I'm sat on the side of Pen-y-ghent before the last climb to the summit. This is the first peak out of three and smallest.
The four of us set ourselves a challenge, to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, as described in the title this is a 25-mile hike over the three highest mountains in Yorkshire, this must be competed in 12 hours!

Pen-Y-Ghent - 691 metres
Whernside - 728 metres
Ingleborough - 723 metres
Most walkers would start with Pen-y-ghent, from the village of Horton in Ribblesdale - there is the option of checking in and out at the Pen-y-ghent Cafe. Bear in mind that the traditional Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge involves returning to your starting point to fully complete the Challenge.
